  • Since 2017 Alex has been dedicating more time to his passion, creating pieces of art. In 2020 he reduced his working hours considerably, freeing up time in his studio. He focuses on portrait busts in clay and bronze, sculptures, installations, drawings & paintings.

Alex grew up with eleven siblings, close to Austria’s cultural town of Salzburg. Very early on, he noticed his talent to draw as well as to create wood sculptures. Encouraged by his surroundings, he aspired to turn his developing passion into a profession, but, the time was not right then. His early acquired artisan skills and his talent, however, opened many doors for him along his professional career as a dental technician. Not sculptures, but the anatomy of teeth with all their different shapes, colours, textures and surfaces would be his challenge for the decades to come. Human teeth are dievine masterpieces which want to be understood in all their beauty and complexity. Modelling them, Alexander could refine his artisan skills. The profession requiring

fine motor skills and a sense of esthetics. These skills, along with anatomic knowledge, have become the foundation of Alexander’s artistic creations. In his mid-twenties, after finishing his training, he joined the dental industry and worked as a sales representative as well as a trainer for dental technicians, organizing workshops with international speakers and trainers. He was deeply inspired by these encounters and the various approaches to the creational process. Due to the digitalization, the creative, hands-on part of the job, was steadily decreasing, as management and sales activities took over. After the sudden unexpected death of his parents in 2017, Alexander started to think more about his own mortality and the meaning of life.

Creating his parents’ grave sculpture inspired him to awaken and cultivate his talents once more. He established his studio to make room for his creations and in 2020 he reduced his working hours, making it possibleable to dedicate more time to his creative passion.
